The book has earned me some money and won two awards and I have gained recognition for my work. However the pay is still poor and I want to earn some money. The people in trade are earning lots and lots of money. I have a boat, I have England to support supplies from and I can find a crew. Maybe I will go into trade and start trading between England and Chile....

( 12 January 1799 ) Finally, I have reached Sydney cove! I GET TO PROVE HUNTER THE STRAIT EXISTS!!! According to the people at home ( In Britain) the trip from England to Australia will be shortened by 10 days and many safe anchoring points have been found for ships stuck in a storm. /\ /\ /\ /\
Port Jackson and Van Diemans Island. FLINDERS HAS JUST HAD AN AWESOME IDEA! Flinders says I should name this strait the Bass strait. Yes, a place named after me! The book is going awesome, I`m not going to earn a BIT of money I`m going to earn a LOT of money.
P.S. it was really lucky I found all that ink and parchment in the store P.S.S. I think I might be an adult going hyper Last time I said I might run out of ink, guess what I found a million bottles from one of our last trips. Now I have nothing to do with all of this excess ink. There have been a lot of interesting interesting plants and animals around here. Whoever is reading this is the only one who knows about these animals. Maybe I should write about them somewhere else, I KNOW I will right a book about these plants and animals(I might even earn some extra money).
I am at the end of this strait. The journey was hard with just Flinders for company. I got to continue my mapping of the coast. It looks like I`m going to run out of ink. I really hope I don`t (there is nothing to do out here than map and if I don`t map there will be nothing to do BORINNG!!!). The provisions are not going too well but I think we will survive.
The journey has been going well but we have been hit with a few rough storms. Luckily the in the last voyage I found many little coves to take refuge in. Mapping the coast of the land under Sydney (later known as Tazmania) . I have also found a new river ( later called the Derment river). We are half way through the trip, just wait governor Hunter you'll get your proof.
Even though I wanted a longer rest going back to the sea feels like home. We are in the 25 ton sloop , "Norfolk" . The tides are on our side we at the tamar Estuary . Flinders is providing good company and this trip feels so much easier as we have already done this trip but I guess that takes away the excitement. Maybe I`ll find some new place or maybe I should get some parchment and ink so I can chart the coast (most of this place is unexplored).
After a tiring journey I`m back home. The trip was longer than I thought it would be. The provisions just lasted. The news has spread fast, the strait between van dieman`s island but Governor Hunter wants proof (I wish he would believe me that hard head) Hunter wants me to go all the way to van diemans island and back for proof. Looks like I`ll have to set off again in a few days (I wanted a rest) ) :
I have continued south-wards and I`ve struck gold!!! I`ve reached Western Port in Victoria. The swell of the sea makes me sure I have finally found it, the strait between the mainland and Van Dieman`s island. I have travelled 1931km and will have to travel them again to get back home. I hope supplies will last, I don`t want to go on rations.
I`ve found two new rivers. The Shoalhaven road and two fold bay. We still have plenty of supplies left. Unfortunately none of them is the strait we are looking for.
I love this boat :) 6 December
The sun is past its highest and the wind has freshened up into a breeze. However the winds have southerned soooo much that we can`t go forward. We are going to have to anchor into a bight The shipwreck people also said that there might be a strait between New South Wales and Van Diemen's Land. The best part is that I get a whale boat twenty-eight feet seven inches long with provisions for six weeks.
I`m back home and governor Hunter has called this place Coal cliff and there are plans to start mining there
I`m at Sydney cove and there actually is coal here! There is so much, a seam six feet thick and it runs across the cliff for eight miles.
Hunter has sent me south. Some ship wrecked sailors from Sydney cove have sent reports of coal being found over there. I get to go in governor Hunter`s whale boat. YAY!
Today we arrive back from the Blue Mountains. We brought scaling iron scales and ropes but hunger thirst and many lines of cliffs made us come back after fifteen hard days. The trip started off well, we were following the Grose river but then those cliffs forced us back.
Flinders and I have just arrived after our exhausting trip. We`ve finally explored all of Botany Bay and Georges river in my boat the Tom Tomb.
